my friend said he would sell a 92 5.0 H out f convertable for $150. the onl problem is he ran it with out oil and needs to be rebuilt. it was a parts car at the time. should i? how hard woud it be 2 put it in my 89 gt?, i want to also build up my other motor if this isnt an option. does any one know how much hp i would have if i put twisted wedge heads(track heat), f-cam,1.7 cobra rollor rockers, a systemax intake ,and should i put a 65 or 70 mm tb ad maf on it? i wil be runnin a paxon supercharger in a year or 2. would my 190 inank work with it?if any one has any better options to produce more hp than this please list. i dont want the bottle and i want the paxon. im talkin like intake, heads, cam, rr, tb, maf, ect. any avide wil help. thanx

also i need to rebuild the bottom end. i gonna do the usual, bore.hone. clean all that stuff. should i go with the hyperutectic reuild kit from summit for like 269?if im runnin the paxon would the 9:1 compression be good or should i go with forged pistons. they are ike 499. i only have about 2700 to spend on the rebuild. nehelp will do. i want to have round 400 hp

I would just rebuild yours. His 5.0 is a direct bolt in, but running it without oil could have hurt the rods and/or crank. Then you are talking some big $$$. But your budget is going to hurt. Any machining to the block is going to cost. Then if you want to run some kind of forced induction, you might as well buy forged pistons and rods. Those are costly too. A decent set of heads will burn 40% of your budget, but those can be bolted on at a later date. Unless you plan to buy a large blower you can run with the stock style replacements. Otherwise, lower your compression ratio.



p.s. Stay away from the hypercrap pistons. Your motor came stock with forged pistons, why make it cheaper?

you can do a total rebuild on an engine for under $1500 if you find a good machine shop and parts for it
