I say if you want to put a Chevy motor in a Ford just jump in with both feet and get it done. There are parts made just for this swap from the cross member to the headers because it's a popular swap. A small Block chevy can produce more power dollar for dollar than anything on the road. I almost contemplated this myself and if I were to build a cheap bracket car thats how I'd do it and I could spray the wee out of it without worry of the block splitting down the middle. Chevy has been building that basic block sine 1955. 54 years of it so something must be right about it and I've seen some really wicked ones done on the cheap. It's your car so do it like you want and to hell what anyone else thinks. It's closed minds that only think inside the box. I came within a knats azz of throwing a 540 Merlin down in mine but I decided to keep it all Ford just in case I decided to sell it one day. Putting a Chevy in a Ford drives the resale down but then againg I'll Never recover what I have in the ground up build I'm doing right now not even 50% of whats invested not including all the time, labor and fabrication that has went into it. Carroll Shelby made history stuffing The wrong motor into an Import and I don't see anyone calling him and idiot for building the Cobra. His personal AC Cobra brought 5 million dollars and buying a real AC Cobra is super expensive. Sunbeam threw a 260 Ford in the Tigers and it's a real collectable. Deamatso(sp?) threw in a 351C in the Pantera and Ford sold it threw the dealerships. Jeep used 4cyl Chevy engines when they were owned by Chrysler. Ford Used Mazda engines (before they bought out Mazda) and now the hot ticket is throwing a small block ford in a Mazda Miata. Even though I can't get my big azz into one I still think it sweet. Lots of Old Ford trucks and still on the road because of a Chevy engine conversion because small block Fords just a few years ago just made no kind of real power. If not for Chevy motors and Nova subframes old Ford Pickup would be a rare sight now. It's your thing, do what you wanna do!

If enough people like the idea of it we plan on making kits to sell with instructions and pictures to explain in detail how its done.
Good for you, bravo. If I had $ it would be something I would consider.
