RE: small block chevy in a mustang
your right any good engine builder knows that you can get the same amount of horsepower out of a ford engine as a small block chevy, the difference is about $2000-$3000 in price and mine is 11.50's for $750

I'm with phony on this one. You can build a chevy cheaper than a ford. Plus there are alot of chevy guys out there that just want a cheap, light body to put the engine in. That's why there are alot of fox/chevy transplants out there.

Ah, didnt know chevy's were that much cheaper to build.
wonder why?
because it's getting same power out of smaller displacement?
302 vs 350 for same power?

Thanks for proving my point! why spend the money on a 302

I dont have any love affair with the 302, but do think it is a good engine
I just love my Stang
but I'm wondering if the hassle your are going thru is worth saving $2-3,000?
How hard was the install? What about tranmission and trans cross member? Clutch? driveline?
How much of the drivetrain has to be changed back to the axle?
I would be interest in a "kit" possibley. Want to do a year by year frame up resto
pretty much and I'm open to all kinds of ideas, before I start

are kit is strictly bolt on, no modifications need to be made to the car..therefore you could always go back to a ford, but after driving with the 350 chevy with the added torque you'll never go back..it will feel the same as a 351 stroker motor..our conversion motor mounts bolt in the same location as your stock ford mounts..trans??which trans is currently in your car, and does it have a removable bell housing or is it part of the tranny. we have power steering lines that hook to chevy pump and to the ford rack and pinion, we can supply you with a radiator that is bolt in. and we can supply you with wiring diagrams or with a premade ford to chevy harness..any more questions??

umm, NO! SBCs are INEXPENSIVE, not cheap. And they are so inexpensive compared to SBFs because they have been produced and hot rodded by the millions for the past oh, i dont know, 51 years! There are more aftermarket performance parts available for the chevrolet generation 1, 2, and 3 smallblocks than any other type of motor made. The original first generation smallblock was a 265 ci V8 and was first produced in 1955 and is known as the SB1. It didnt go through a major redesign until 1996! They must have been doing something right for those 41 years dont you think? JD is right, fast is fast no matter how you get it.
