no need for stroker.

302 with high flow heads and E-303 cam will make about 340hp
add a 8psi supercharger for about 120hp for a total of about
450-475hp with about 360hp top the wheels.

This will be very streetable and run on pump gas.

personally I'm looking at getting a forged piston short block
from coasthigh.com and putting AFR 165 or 185 heads on it.
that should make about 350hp, add a www.kennebell.net blower
on at 8psi and be pushing 500hp with good drivability.

or to keep it simple you could get one of the Ford Racing crate engines
with the GT-40X heads for about $3,500

are 408 and 427 street legal???

the 331 and a sc will put you over the 400rwhp no problem. i expect to see near 500rwhp next time i hit the dyno and thats still with the stock cam which means emissions legal in california and very smooth, streetable idle

Not sure if it's been said yet but you could boost it. Or if you want something better on gas then just build the motor to hold Nitrous and that way you could have like a 300 hp motor for here to there driving and if your racing just spray to get to the hp level your looking for.

i have a 95 gt and i want it to have 400+ hp but still be very srteetable, i was thinking going with either a 331 or 347 stroker with forged internals and 8.5:1 compression and then get a sc and run high boost but i heard that strokers arent very streetable, i want this thing to drive perfect on the road, like drive it for hours straight if i wanted to, does the setup im leaning towards sound like it will give me what i want if not what should i do to reach my 400+ hp mark, any input would be great, what do you think guys?
I drive my stroker daily.... its very streetable... now if ya start throwing your power steering and ac away as i did (weight issue) it becomes a different drive obviously but still streetable... Ref gas... personally i think gas is for girls... ive exceeded your goals in my stroker without gas...
