Ide def use forged parts...sooner or later down the road you are going to want a power adder of some sort...as far as 331 hp potential, its unlimited...MM&FF got 1000hp with 13.5 psi. Its just how you build it. There are a bunch of places to get one, just do a little research on where u can get the best price.

They have good stuff, but there stuff isn't all forged. So I would go with Eagle myself because they are always right to the exact specs that you are suppose to have when doing the preassembly of the engine. Go with forged, it will last longer, which is what you want. If you ever decide to get a blower.

I got a 331 stroker with AFR 185 Heads. Putting about 400 to the wheels ALL MOTOR with the COBRA Intake (only able to hold about 350HP) and side exhaust that I wil soon change. The 347 are only good for about 20 more HP than the 331s and the 331s are more streetable. If I was you, I would get eveything FORGED, Eagle and make sure you put a girdle on your rockers so you will be safe to spray. NOS or Turbo will work bettet with my Compression rather than a SCer.

ide put a main girdle on before I used a rocker girdle...but as far as hp goes, Ive seen guys get over 500hp on a 331...the funny thing was that it was NA and had low compression pistons!

Yes main girdles are helpful to keeping your block strong to handle the power. Another suggestion would be to get 4 bolt bearing caps (and use studs).

Yup Eagle and everything forged . The 347 is very streetable all the problems have been fixed, like the oil problems of years ago. Now there is not any problems.

those gridles don't help much on those stock blocks....save your $$$$....the 347 will give you about 50hp over that 331...buy that 331 is a vey reliable engine
