Default best 347 setup!

ok, so i finally got my 91' GT. such a different car than the rex...but we won't go into that. i was looking at getting a 347 short block from chp (or if you have better suggestions, let me know), and i was wondering about the best heads/intake manifold combo to add on. i was thinking the trick flow track heat, but the chp long blocks come with the edelbrock, i was just wondering which has proven to be better. thanks

i have never ran a 347 but spend at least a month researching the motor and the set up i would sugest is run edelbroch rpm profermer heads, and a rpm profermer intake or typhoon is the same thing. and for the 347n kit its self i would be sure to get the 5.315 rods rather than the 5.400 rods and a hyp. piston made to fit no flycut forged, no need for a forged anything unless u upgrade to a better block, trust me you cannot make surious hp with a stock block, and for the price of a after market block u can get a 351w block and all the machine work done for a 393,408 or bigger, so inconclusion you can build a 408 stroker for the same price as a 347 if you want to go over 450 hp with the engine. the kits are a bit more, but the heads and every thing else is the same.

oh yeah i for got i would use edelbroch rpm profomer stuff because of pricing and it flows enough for any 347 on a stock block.

the bad thing about the 351 is i want to keep the efi...so that's kind of out of the picture. i'll take a look at the performer stuff though, thanks

eagle sells a really nice kit through jegs for a 347. it is balanced and everything for $1600. it is what im looking into getting. as for the rest, look into the trick flow kit in summit

isn't that just the stroker kit though, not the short block? i'm the same way with trick flow, but it's more of a personal opinion rather than factually based decision...so i'm just trying to get the facts. thanks though

i would go with a forged 331 kit...you dont want crappy hyper **** inside your motor...and i wouldnt recomend a 347...just not enough meat on the pistons...alot of blow by

where's the best place to buy a 331 short block? and how much power can be had from the 331 setup?
edit-not sure if it makes much of a dif to you but the chp 347 does use forged parts
