hey all... ok heres what i was plannign on doing.. i hope you can help me here. ok i have a 92 5.0 that i bought just for the engine.. because it was messed up pretty bad in the rear end... i also have a 89 lx 4 cyl. im wanting to do the engine swap in the 2 cars. how hard would it be to put the 5.0 HO engine and 5 speed trany into the 89 LX? what all would i have to do.. i mean will the engine and trany bolt up.. or would i have to do some welding or what? i am also planninf on putting the rear end from the 5.0 in the lx.. basicaly i am turning my 4cl into a 5.0 trany, engine,rearend, wireing , ecu and all. and i was just wondering if any one could give me the complete rundown of everything iw ould have to do.

Its possible... I have done it, but it isn't as easy as just bolting up the drivetrain. The suspension has to change as well as the braking system too. Plus, you can change over the fuel system or fabricate something to work with the existing 4 popper lines. And the rear brake line will need cut and modified to fit the 8.8 rear brake lines. When you get started on the project you will see just what I am talking about. I did mine over a winter. I had the motor in a local engine builders shop getting some work done to it while I changed the suspension components and rear. Oh, all of the bodies are the same, so all of the bolt holes are there for the quad shocks, exhaust mounts, etc.
