Default A/C Dye Test

I have an A/C leak somewhere. Had a complete charge last summer and it only lasted for 3 days. Anyone know a reasonable place to get my A/C checked, or can anyone do this test?

I want to narrow down the exact leak to see if it is the compressor or something else. I would appreciate any response. Thanks

Looking for someone in/near the Pittsburgh area.

In the 2 Mustangs I've owned it was usually the lines that had leaks. Follow the hard lines and if you see a lot of dirty film your lines might have the leak. If a AC shop does it be prepared for a die test which they will charge you for even before they tell you what the problem is. Then comes the outrageous price of repair depending on what they tell you! If it is too high of a price consider Late Model Restoration Supply they have an all new ac sytem for not too bad of a price considering a shop might charge you more to fix and most of your exhisting system will still be subject to still cause a problem . New is better especially if its cheaper and better!!

I work at firestone and I do ac all the time. Your going to pay for everytime that the system is charged and discharged. First thin they do is discharge the system completely. So then they charge the system tell you where the problem they found is. Discharge it. Fix the problem which is added labor and parts. Then they charge you to recharge it again. In the end you out almost a $1000 to replace a line or 2 and a couple seals. Not worth it if you ask me.
