How to clean headlights??

How the heck do I get my milky headlights clean? Do I have to replace the lens or the whole assembly? Or can I clean them? I searched on this and couldn't find anything. I have an 88 LX.

mothers has a process that works great. i think its like mag polish to clean them, and something else. im sure you could call them and ask

or simply get some rubbing compound and rub the lenses nice, but cleaning the inside is something else

3m duty rubbing compound and a buffer (high speed) not a orbital polisher, that will get them cleaner than anything else.

3M makes a plastic cleaner for something like that. i bought a pair of taillight lenses at a junk yard and used that, turned out great. they also have a plastic polish after you have cleaned them
