i was just wondering the best cam kit for a 331 stroker with stock heads, intake manifolds and soon to be a 3:73 rear end? also, will installing the 331 on this stock setup require bigger injectors/better spark?...ok, one more question. i was thinking about buying a main girdle, i was just wondering if any machining is necessary? thanks for the help

a girdle is always a smart idea. you can use the stock injectors up to around 300hp. which your under and i would go with a e or b cam for now untill you get some more airflow. any other cam with be to much for now.

since 5 liter block is 2bolt main. its brace to stiffen up the bottom end. kinda like a 4 bolt main chevy block. alot stronger then the 2bolt mains

one thing i wasn't sure about is does it actually require machine work? i appreciate it hotrod, i'll probably get one from cammotion (much cheaper than dss). but about the cams, where can i find a kit for the e-series cam? thanks

hey racer there cam are cutom to your spec ,,i got 2 in both of my motors ,,good idle ,but runs like a bitch ..get one highy reconmend..if you like hi rpms ,go with the soild roller ,,hyd roller ,puss out about 6500 ,,were mine will go past 8200 rpms,,just give them the spec they ask for ..cam motion his in my home town they all intoo racing the # is 1-225-926-6110 ask for terry williams,,

i'm not really into going above well...6250, my fuel cutoff. the bad thing about getting a custom cam is that i've got the 331 stroker w/stock heads, intake and gears. so i think i need something that's rather general so that when i get all that changed later i won't have to go back and order another custom cam. i'll definitely check them out after i get done with the motor and gears though.

If you do not care whether it is an billet alum. or steel..go to www.flatlanderracing.com They carry a Probe & Pro-Line Main Girdle supports for around $119.00 and with ARP hardware for $169.00. They are notched for stroker application, so no machining.

i shift at 7800rmps ..with out the juice..hit my recall,once it said 8200rpms ,,it just revs quick,,,,i got the tko trans..3.73s ,,.and that was with old motor with KB pistons,,heavy pistons...[] i got srps now,,what to you shift at??? ,,im going to juice the crap out of it........if it blows ,,a dart block will be waiting..........
