convertible top

Default convertible top



I have 94 gt conv and the top will not go down, last year before I parked it for winter when I went to put up my top I hearda hissing noise in the back where the convert mechanics are, now the top will not go down at all, just makes noise. any advice??</P>

Yes, your motors for the convertable are probably out, which is not incredibly rare. You probably need to have them replaced; the hissing noise is the pressure comming out of the motors when the top is trying to be retracted.

well actually i dont hear the hissing anymore ..it was just on the passenger side when i heard it and it sounded like a hydraulic if ya know what im sayin,, the driver side sounds like its still tryin to retract the top, and if the motors are shot i honestly dont know jack when it comes to tops do i need to take this somewhere or is this something that can be fixed in my own garage thanks for your reply mel</P>
