How much hp stock axles can handle?

I was just wondering how much hp the stock mustang axles can handle? I have a 88 gt!

I wouldnt guess over 400 MAXIMUM.And even then i wouldnt run a stock one with those kind of numbers.But ive been told 400 so i dont know for sure.

I agree with the Killer but dumping the clutch on a 5 speed will break them quicker than an automatic because of the shock loading, especially if you run slicks and get some traction.

Been told 400....... But have seen 550 being pushed through a couple stock ends and no problems.... but still prolly not wise lol
