CEL comes on decelerate..?

CEL comes on decelerate..?
Hey say im cursing down the road in 4th gears @ 2500rpm, if I just let off the gas and let it deaccelerate, the check engine light comes on when it gets around 1500 and below...what would cause the cel to come on? could it be smog related.

Check the codes, follow the procedures in http://www.themustang-net.com/eec.shtml .... EGR, smog equipment, TPS, MAF...are among the possibilities.
