EEC IV comp swap on a 95?
Sorry if this has already been asked, but I couldnt seem to find anything pertaining to my question in general. I did, however, read in a magazine about the 94-95 mustang gt's using an inferior computer in the EEC IV.
I would like to know if this is so, then is there a better computer that can be had from an older fox body or maybe a cheap alternative?
What would the comp swap consist of in the way of parts and labor?
How much of a difference would it really make?
Thanks in advance!

Good luck here.
I read the same article and posted a similar post.
This group seems to be more concerned with uploading photos of cars than being of genuine technical assistance.
My friend at work told me of a place, can't remember the name, that reprograms PCMs. I'll get it and fwd it to you.

Ran intot he same deal on my 95 GT...Computers are crap, but are very tunable.. I recommend having a chip burned for it instead of switching computers. Even if you upgrade after the chip, you can have it reprogrammed for usually reasonable pricing. I had a SCT chip burned for mine at a spot up here (Manchester, NH). The place was actually in Concord, NH.

The article basicly went into the differences between the 94-95 stangs with the up's and down's of that particular model as compared to the other stangs of past and present.
So they weren't very detailed with any one thing in general. This was just the part of the article that peaked my interest because it confirmed all the rumers I had heard from all the fox and 96+ stang owners at the track.
I've added a few mods to my car since i last updated my sig and have noticed a bit of roughness sitting at idle and a lag in throttle response which all seem to make me lean toward the crappy stock EEC IV. (no chip or reflash)

I think i read that you could simply use the stock harness and buy extensions to plug into it, But i can't figure out where the heck i read that. (currently rummaging through my back issues of 5.0 mag.)
