Default Smog Pump Removal Directions.

ok heres how u take off ur smog pump. 1. remove the belt. 2. remove the 2 bolts holding the pump on. 3. remove all the tubing and hoses connescted to it. 3. cut the 2 vaccum lines shorter if u want, it looks better if there shorter and plug them( i used 2 small screws). 4. use the one hose that is bent kinda like a u, i trimmed this hose so it was a perfect u and connected the tube from the heads to the tube that goes down to the h-pipe, if u trim it it works perfectly and use hose clamps to hold it on. 5. If you have already removed ur ac also then a 71" belt will be the belt u need to use. be sure that you reverse what side the belt goes around the water pump though. stock it comes up on the right of the water pump, on this u need to make it come up on the left side. and your done.

any more ?'s about this just ask and i will answer. good luck

well if you dont have cats u dont need the pump anyway, i dunno about power but im sure maybe a lil, its one less pulley on ur belt so less drag on the motor. plus it looks cleaner with one less pully.

i HAVe a question on the removal of the smog pump, I run 2.5 High flow cats but switching to the X-pipe off road , I have Dyno Max Catback with turbo mufflers on my 93 lx 5.0 I have also Ford Motorsport Headers shorty version. I wanna dump the super turbos for some flowmasters or dynomax ultra flos but cant make up my mind on that issue .So are you saying the 71 Inch belt will bypass my smog pump, I want to keep My AC, but it dont work i have to get a new Retro Fit Commprosser to get the new r-134 refrig. thats a whole another story LOL Im wondering if that 71 inch will work or not with the ac. I guess the smog Pump Eliminator bracket is useeless then cuz it still has a Pulley On it? Also i had the part you speak of that attaches to the head part welded shut due to it broke one day long time ago and my stang sounded like a Mack truck, so that part is now sealed commpletly. does that make sense. let me know liquide out 93 whiteLX

well actually u dont need ur smog pump anymore if u have that tube from ur heads sealed off already, u also do not need that tube that goes down to ur h-pipe, def get an offroad h or x pipe. the 71 in. belt is for if u take off ur smog pump and ac ccompresser. if i were u i would not get that smog pump elimn. kit because its pointless and its better to just take it off completey, its only 2 bolts. if i were u id take off the ac to because its said to take off 2 tenths of a second on the 1/4 if u take the smog and ac off, and plus its like 40 lbs. and looks way cleaner, but im not u. if u have anymore ?'s just ask and ill be glad to answer them.

If you're routing above the tensioner, how does it keep belt tension?

What is the size belt you need if i keep the Ac I live in florida well i use to im moving back there from southern IN florida is very humid in summer with no AC sucks. So i will have to swap out mu burnt up commpressor.
SO i have another question on H pipe and smog pump. SO all i need when i install the new hpipe is the oxygen sensor? i have been running mine now in my 2.5 high flow mac cats for 5 years or more and more then 50,000 miles i guess i should change that out when i put h-pipe in Is the XPipe better For horse power gains over the old style h-pipe, and whats better 2 chamber or 3 chamber deltas or the dynomax ultra flows i cant decide on mufflers after running the dynomax super turbos for 10 years OK liquide out thanx for the Smog pumg tips BP

To route it above the tensioner you need to reverse the tensioner to go up instead of down.

Its not to bad theres notches showing you where and how on the tensioner. It can be a pain in the *** though.
