Hey all.
Good evening/night/morning whatever.

Anways, I'm a young driver, and plan to get through college/law schoolby racing cars. I've looked into many of them, primarily the BMW M3 (E36 series). And so to help me finish college like that, many people have suggested to me the Mustang 5.0 series. They said it's cheap, powerful, massive engine means more given power for less money, and a great aftermarket. So my question for you: Is this a good choice?

I need a basic overview of the 5.0, such as stats, possible insurance rates (I'm 16, cumulative 3.02 GPA student, parents have State Farm), and most importantly, can I race this car? What mods do you recommend? Does the car have good potential for cheap?

Any and all information will be gratefully accepted. Thanks.

Hey all.
You do realize that racing cars usually don't pay right? I mean, performance isn't cheap and things do break. Even street racing there are big bucks, but those only go around on the big money cars. Get a real job and race on the side.

Hey all.
Daddy must be rich, and there's no way you can go through college/law school by racing cars. The only money you really do make is contingancy money, and it's not that great, and you gotta be damned good. It was the only thing that kept my old team in buisness.
You have to be DAMNED good driver, which you probably aren't (let's face it, 16 means hardly any experiance).
The 302 is actually a small engine (look at 427 Super Cobras, 454 Rockets, ect. Those suckers can go beyond 600 cubes if you want to.). That's right, a small block, not a massive engine.
It is extremely cheap, you can pick them up for under $800 ifyou don't care that much about extrior looks, and if the engine is going to be rebuilt, big whoop.
The insurance rates will be ungodly. A teenage male will pay out the *** for a RWD V8 sports car. I pay $58 a week for insurance on a SATURN, and I'm 18. The motors can go above 500 horses for very little and be streetable, and be made to run 10's in a daily driver.

Hey all.
Ah, to be 16 again. Go to college first, son. If you do it the way you've planned, you will find college much less expensive than racing. And if you have the money to race, you'll never have the time to go to school.
