RE: sea foam and oil change running awesome
Supposed to rev engine some and poor half a bottle in slow then dump the rest to kill it, make the engine stall!! Then let sit for like 5 min. then start her up and enjoy the smoke show. You also can put right in the tank, no smoke, and clean injectors. I would stay away from putting it in the oil if you engine is high mileage, here is why--->quote:

Becareful on those cleaners, especially oil treatments. It can do more harm than good. If you have an older high mileage engine first thing people think is "well, I'll run some stuff to clean out the carbon!" That carbon may be what is keeping those piston rings tightly sealed. Carbon buildup in other areas may cause problems but in my experience sometimes people clean out the engine so good that all of a sudden the start burning oil and down hill from there. Am I making sence here? Excellent before a rebuild. Like, run diesel threw an engine before you rebuild it it really cleans it out well, but be ready to rebuild it then, lol. Anyways, topend cleaning I think is good but, beware! Sometimes it's better to just leave a good thing alone. Better to keep a new engine clean, than an old one, lol.

I have seen this to be true, first hand. That's why I have been apprehensive about putting solvents in my oil. I think I am going to just leave well enough alone. I mean, a quart per 1k miles is fine, so long as it stays that way. At any rate, good point, and thanks for the perspective.
