Default '86 Dash lights 'red' thingymobob

Just got time to take my dash apart and find out why only half my dash lights were glowing red. Found out why. The little red dohickey that goes over the bulb on one side was 50% disintegrated and actually fell out when I removed the outer lens of the instrument cluster.

Anyone know where to find these (other than a junkyard)? Does Ford still make them? Maybe an aftermarket place with different colors?

Thanks for any help....

Thanks. Just looked at some complete clusters on ebay. For the prices I'm seeing, I might just as well get another whole cluster and hope that the red bulb covers are intact!

Thanks again.

BTW beside the 3rd brakelight and injection, you own the best looking mustang produced, I have 3, 85's and no mustang since 85 can compare to them.

Thanks man. I agree on all accounts (thats why I bought it). I think I said in a post before, I haven't been in a Stang yet that compared to the 84-85 carb'ed. I loved the feeling of the extra push when those secondarys opened up!

Default LED Interior Lighting????

1st off, Creepshow .... I LOVE the '82 scoop! I'm trying to get one right now, I think they look great on a 4 eyes!

Back to the instrument cluster 'red' light. Does anyone have any experince with this LED lighting stuff? Would it be feasable for me to wire up some red LED's to the factory instrument cluster bulb sockets? I found these...

LED's on eBay

Instead of buying another instrument cluster just to have the 'all red' dash I was thinking about these. Might be able to even add a few more to other locations (air vents, under seats, etc.).

Does anyone have any experience with interior LED lighting? Would the be bright enough for the instrument cluster? Would they be about to be wired to the existing sockets (12v I assume)? Would they work with the 'dimmer' POT?

As always....thanks for any help!
