Default A question of sustainability...

I have read many posts out here that say you can reach 120mph with 3.73s; my question is what do you think is the fastest, safest, sustainable speed with 3.73s and fairly stock 5.0 with about 125k on a still solid motor? My car is coming to Germany and I want to take it to work once in a while which will involve Autobahn travel. I have heard that the motor shouldn't be drivin at over 24-2500 sustained rpm. Your thoughts? Thank you.

Depends on what you mean by "sustained"... but i think i be more concerned about the condition of tires, tie rods, etc...

The entire front end is newly rebuilt w/ urethane bushings, new tire rod ends etc. There will be new tires on it. On the Autobahn I drive, the average speed is 160kmph, about 105 mph and I have to travel about 35 km each way. I just don't want to shred the gears or blow the motor by driving too high a speed for a sustained period of time.

Sweet. Cause I will tell you I was driving the route and just to see what it was like I drove at 100kmph and I felt ridiculous, and that would only feel worse in the vert. Cause really, over here only the very old or people with crap cars drive that slow. I don't wanna let Grannie in some VW Polo blow my Mustang away...she'd probably flip me off as she went by.

I am not sure about the rpms yet as the car is still in transit. I was told that w/ 3.73s @ 65-70 mph I should be at about 24-2500 rpm and that I should not go much over that because of the gears.

You'll be fine cruising at 3k rpm, but I would hate to see your fuel bill. especially with gas at 4+ euros per liter.

btw: if none of yall have been to Germany yet, you gotta go. Everyone drives 100mph everywhere
Autobahn? Ha, we were going 160kph(100mph) down 2 lane country roads. just normal driving for them, lol
