Default Fealing out for new project

Well, since this is my first post, I guess a hello would be in order !
I have owned a few 5.0 fox bodies, and sold them off to move onto different hobbies, and projects. Well, the bug has bitten me again....
I am in the process of looking for a 5.0 for my next project. I figure to find your common 150,000 mile car, as that is about all thats left any more.
Anyway, I will be starting with the power plant, and want to feel out for ideas as to which direction to go.
I have seen the Trick Flow kits, that are getting you to the 350hp mark. But I hate to go through the trouble of putting all of these parts onto a 150,000 mile bottom end, just to wish I had started where I should have.
I have been reading around, and seen alot of folks talk about dropping the 351 in, and putting one of these kits on it. But what all does it consist of to do this transform ? What would I need ?
And is it really going to be worth my time, and effort with doing all of this, instead of just ordering up the GT-40 engine from Ford ?
I am not really looking for the "cheapest" route. Not that I am rich, but I do realize you pay to play in this world. The 5k range is where I would want to be in the power plant area.
Any help is appreciated...

coasthigh.com lots of great quality short blocks and long blocks. definatly something to get you started. also dssracing.com or something like that offers some good crate engines. if you're looking for a good amount of performance i'd go with something from one of those 2 companys. i've never really heard any feedback on the gt-40 crate engine, but i know a few people running DSS engines and coasthigh engines and they love em.

So your suggestion would be to just stick with the 302 platform ?
Maybe stick the trick flow setup on one of these setups ?

nah do whatever you want. I'm sticking to the 5.0 platform with a 331 stroker. coasthigh offers 351's and bigger. and other strokers from a 5.0.

and trickflow setups are excellent. for any engine.

with a 351 you're gonna get bigger displacment, which you cant beat. i dont know how well the electronics of the 5.0 will work with a 351 though. never tried it. thats why im sticking with a 5.0 platform.

theres just way too many options to get into with these cars, and they are all inexpensive options. but if you're heart set on a 351w swap check out coasthigh.com. theyve got 393, 408, and 427 stroker crate engines.

Yeah, I am kind of stumped on the electronics as well. I was hoping to see someone chime in on that kind of info...
Thanks for your input.

i dunno if the TwEECer programmer can adjust for that, but you can nearly adjust anything withit on a 5.0. you could always run it carb'd too if you dont have to worry about emissions tests or inspections.
