you could have gotten ford racing gears, and a rearend rebuild kit for the same price or cheaper. I bought my gears and kit for around 200 dollars brand new off of ebay.

yea, im doing them in my auto shop class. my auto teacher isnt your typical idiot teacher, so i trust him on the install. hes going to show me what to do, and im going to do it. i figured it would be a great thing to learn early, and i am only 17.

I got lucky on mine the shims that where already in the rear end put me almost perfect on the pinion depth and basklash. I am only like 1-2 thousandths away from the center of tolerance measurements. From what I have discovered most not all but most 3.73 gearsets usually use the same shims as 2.73.
