I also have a buddy who has a 87 and runs the GT 40. You just have to be creative on how you install the fitting in the bottom. Just put them were they dont hit.

Problem is, I just polished and cleared the intake and don't want any rubs on it.[] Trust me it is alot of work and it really rubs on the rails without the spacer. Thanks for all the feedback though guys, this site kicks a$$..

Nice looking car Grimace! Great looking hood as well, if that is the 2.5" cowl then I think the 4" will be fine, I thought the 4" would look way too big, I'll have to bolt it on and see. Solid lookin' car though

4 inch isnt all that big it just took a little time for me to get use to and for a few days I was kinda scard in two lanes to pass other people because I didnt know how close I was but its fine now.

Actually your right, looks good. It's different hey, almost all cowls are the 2.5" - still nice but really common. Do you notice a difference with the coolling of the motor? The cowl is open in the back right? The 4" is pretty obnoxious, which is fine by me! lol
