thanks guys. but should i primer the whole car up or spray over the paint?

for the roof just need to prime the bare metal spots(acid etch) then the sandable primer over this,make sure to wash the car 1st off with a soap without any wax in it then wipe the entire car down with wax and grease remover before continuing on with the bodywork! i would do the body work(rust dents) then block the car with 400 grit wet sand paper till its dull all over then paint it.! u really only need to block the car, if the car is straight and rust free except for the roof where u started u need to do the above then block!

reminds me of the funniest thing!!!

Was about two weeks ago i talk to this guy with an 88 Fox, the roof was down to bare metal, i asked what the heck because it didtn' look sanded, more like a cracked desert floor. Well, turns out during the past winter here in steamboat it got down to -35 maybe colder in some areas, and the shrinking of the metal made the paint pop off, Un Freaking Believable, was his entire roof...
