Default dip stick tube PITA to put back in...

Anyone else ever have this problem? the dipstick tube won't go back in all of the way. I'm going to try harder tomorrow, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.

Nope, what seems to be the problem, exactly?

It can be a pain; especially with equal length shorty headers. I usually get underneath the car after fishing the tube aproximately where it needs to go & then grab the bottom end to guide it into the hole in the block. If you just installed aftermarket shorty headers; expect to have to slightly "tweek" the tube to fit correctly....IMHO.....

Well it did this after I installed thenon-equal length shorties, I just can't seem to get it to get into the hole far enough.

Mine dropped right in after my equal length shorty install. Just like it was made to do from the factory.

im actually having the same exact problem. i just got a new dip stick and tube cuz mine had a pinch in it, pulled the old on out and now cant get this one all the way in. i think im gonna grab an open end wrench that will slip around the tube perfectly and try to hammer the wrench to help puch it in.

Haha(regarding some of the comments).... I had to "recontour" the tube extensively to get the base of the tube to seat correctly in the block hole and the upper part of the tube to get it to mount properly at the header bolt. Time & patience are all it takes really.....
