Default mini starter question

Who's done the switch from the biga$$ stock starter? Here's my question...

I've run a 10ga wire w/ the stock starter wire and switched them on the starter solenoid [large one from the right side to the left terminal and put the 10ga on the right terminal). On my starter, there are 3 terminals for loop connectors....which wire goes where?

Thanks in advance,

Adrian

Don't the ford starters only have 1 wire going to them? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have the 93 mini starter. It has 3. One is the main starter motor wire, it goes to the solinoid, there is a small spade connecter on mine, on yours it must be the smallest post, on the starter that also runs to the solinoid and there is a braded wire thats attached to the second large post closest to the bottom of the starter that grounds to the caseing or so it looks. Hope this helps

Yes, that helps a lot, thanks!! I just found this too....which is what I was looking for. Also, Pro, it may have been 93 when it changed...I'm not positive about the year. Thanks for your input, fellas!

Not trying to jack the post, but I just bought a mini starter like 10 minutes ago, lol. I have a 1986 Mustang and there is only one wire attached to the starter. When I bought the starter, it said something about retrofitting older starters with a wiring harness. Does that mean i am going to have to re-wire the system?

Do a search for mini starter wiring on google. You'll need to buy about 6' of 10 gauge wire. Take the starter cable and move it from the right side of the starter solenoid to the left side, then run the 10ga wire from the right side to starter. I tie wrapped mine w/ my starter cable. You should be able to find other instructions and pics in your search. The pic I posted above shows you how it should be wired.....
