I rememeber that statement and it was to the effect that the seafoam might remove the carbon thats keeping your rings from falling? If I was that worried about my rings I would run a compression test and start making plans for an overhaul soon.

i heard that its bad in high milages cars cause somtimes carbon is what actualy keeps the piston rings tight or somthing.
I heard the same.... I guess it could be true to an extent
Incidentally, I've seen this first-hand on motorcyces on which I've cleaned the rings/lands. I was a bike mechanic for a few years. Cleaning the carbon from rings, lands, and even piston crowns and cylinder walls can increase oil consumption. And by more than a little bit.

You could run it through the gas to clean the injectors and what not but I probably wouldn't run it through the vacume lines.

i ran it through the vacume line on my 84 it has 175k on it but also did an oil change right after with PolyDyn TX7 engine treatment it helps expand the rings and make the car run even smoother
