busted heater core either bypass it or replace it! requires taking the whole dash apart or paying some one 300+ dollars to do it for u!

Go to your local hardware store and get 2 3/4" 90° elbows, 1 3/4" short nipple, and 2 3/4" hose barbs with male threads (or get 1 3/4" elbow and 1 3/4" street el and no nipple). Put them together to make a U shaped connector. Makes a great bypass. Be sure to use galvanized metal, not plastic. Plastic will not last too long (had experience on this one).

or just take one end of the heater hose that runs into your firewall and connect it where the other heater hose leaves you engine, which should cost somewhere around $0.

I wouldnt suggest the blockoff. The replacement isnt that big of a deal. If you have A/C you'll need to drain it. Get a Chilton or Haynes. I suggest both because if theres anything left out in one...the other will most likely cover it. Gotta take your center console out. Take the steering colomn brackets off and the brake pedal bracket off. Take the front kickpanels off. Unbolt the brackets on the sides. Some screws on top of the dash underneath the defrost grille. Muscle the dash out a bit. I wouldnt suggest trying to take it completely out because that entails disconnecting the speedometer cable. I did it without disconnecting it. There are 4 bolts on top of the heater assembly wiggle your way to they after you unbolt the heater assembly from the firewall. Muscle the heatercore cover off. Take out heatercore. Cake some RVT on the perimeter of both sides of the core...and replace it. RVT will ensure a good seal. Bolt it all back together. And you're done.

Just take a saturday...start taking interior apart. Take a break from lunch. Come back and knock out the dash. Go get supper. Come back and patch the job up.
