HOPEFULLY SOMEONE CAN HELP. ON 91 GT IS THE SPOUT THE SAME AS THE MODULE ON THE SIDE OF DISTRIBUTOR?
I HAVE A CRANE INTERCEPTOR II PIGGY BACK AND IT KEEPS READING SPOUT ERROR CODE -- SPARK OUTPUT FAULT
ALSO HAVE HAD SOME BACKFIRING GOING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN I LET OFF PEDAL IN GEAR. AS LONG AS I AM AT IT ALSO HAVE IDLE SURGE PROBLEM AND OVERHEATING WHEN RUN HARD ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED -- THANK YOU VERY MUCH
HAVE CHECKED TPS--.98V // MAF .93// FUEL PRESSURE 30# ALSO RESET BASE IDLE AND CLEANED IAC AND MAF. OR DOES ANYBODY KNOW A GOOD AND INEXPENSIVE TUNNING SHOP CLOSE TO KNOXVILLE TN.

not sure about the location of the spout connector on a 91, but is is definitely NOT the module on the side of the dizzy. backfiring is prolly due to improper spark adavance or timing. could also be fuel pressure, but not likely. your pcm might also be in limp home mode. the spout connector is just a little plug that looks kinda like a fuse. on the 91, i wanna say that it's in the harness right next to the distributor. you are supposed to remove it to set base timing, as this is the wire that the pcm uses to control spark advance.

try this: disconnect negative battery cable. unplug piggy back thingy. wait five more minutes. reconnect negative battery cable and drive. if the problem goes away, it's prolly from the crane piggyback thingy.
