I dont think it cost me over $100 for the whole conversion. I even bought a new alternator from Pep Boys.

yea im still running the stock alternator with an electric fan, 5 inch tach, water temp, oil pressure and a couple other accessories. And let me tell you, its killing my battery. So i think im going to go ahead and do the conversion. I need to. And im going to go ahead and get an Optima Yellow top to.

I would go with the red top battery not the yellow top. You don't need a deep cycle battery. The alternator powers everything in your car NOT the battery. Think of if as a generator. All the battery does is "start" the "generator" running. Nothing draws off the battery when the car is running. The ALTERNATOR supplies the power. IF you sit with your cars ignition on alot that draws the battery, then get the yellow top. In fact, if you undid the battery it would still run! Hence this is why "push starting" works. Usually the battery is dead when you push start. You put it in gear and push. This turns the crank which turns the alternator which makes the power to start the car.

i want the yellow top because i do sit with my ignition on alot. all the time actually. so im going with thatPlus we put one in the big block Camaro we have and that thing runs better than it ever has now. Its awesome. You should all get one, it improves throttle response, everything.
