Tailhousing Yoke Bushing

Tailhousing Yoke Bushing
Anyone replace the bushing that's on the inside of the tailhousing behind the seal where the yoke rides?
I'm getting this squeaking noise that at driveshaft speed. I replaced the u-joints last year and greased them again this year and that's the only thing I can think of that's doing it, plus the yoke has some play in the housing which is casuing higher speed vibrations.
Anyone replace it before? I might as well do it while I have the trans out to put my new engine in, yet wanted to know what it entails.

RE: Tailhousing Yoke Bushing
honestly i took a complete guess there lol. I'm not really sure because i have never done it. But like u say if you un-bolt it the back part of the case should come off and u should be able to get to it.

I can't wait to see the parts store guy's face when I tell him what part I need....
OH, BTW, Tim, I'm going to need that intake boot real soon now...the short one between the MAF and airbox. PM me the address.

Thats an expensive alignment machine you have there in your sig. Is that yours or is it just in the shop? We have the same one where I work.

RE: Tailhousing Yoke Bushing
it will be easier with the trans removed.
you need to take out a roll pin that holds the shifter mechanism in, to take it off the shaft.
then you can unbolt the shaft and take off the tailhousing.
