Default AFR 185cc Heads

Will the AFR 185cc heads allow for valve clearance with the 351W stock pistons?

You have a nice car! I am a little ways behind you but pretty much doning the same thing only with a 351W. So the stock piston won't work with the AFR185's? Thanks for the info.

No offense to anyone on the forum but be leary of just tkaing someones word and running with it. Get all your numbers lined up, how far the piston is below the deck, the cam figures, compressed head gasket thickness and so forth and figure it out. Minimum 80 thou clearance.

I agree and thanks for looking out. I would not ever just go on what someone on here says without double and triple checking first.

Well, with a 2.02 valve, the size of the stock valve relief in the piston, AND AFR themselves saying notched pistons are required with 185s...well...165s..perhaps, but def check ptvc.

Most 351 Windsors have a rectangular dish in the piston and depending on how much cam you run is a major factor in valve clearance too. But given the dish pistons and most street cams my bet is it will run. But always clay it.

actually the right cam can hit...2.02's will dwarf stock valve reliefs...they can hit...

myshifter is right, about taking what some people say on here, but i will vouch for 86hogt......but who's going to trust me??/
