if i get these afr 185 heads, which are better, smog legal or non legal? with a n/a motor which combustion chambers should i go with, the 58, 60 ? thanks guys.

depends ... are you looking for a legal car that you don't have to always worry about the cops, yearly smog, and sniffer tests? if so ... then smog legal ...

are you in an area that smog is not an issue and you don't have emissions ... OR ... you just don't care and are willing to sacrifce some difficulty with smog for a few hp? then ditch the smog crap...

It depends on what you want & what you are willing to deal with...... 165 & 185 afr's are available in smog legal form.... Whadda you want & where do you plan on going within the next year or so?

if you staying N/A then go with the smallest sized chamber for the highest compression although the difference between 60 and 58 isnt really even worth mentioning.

as far as i know, the only difference between smog legal and not legal is that the smog legal heads have a whole drilled from front to back, that joins all the exhaust ports so that you can pump fresh air into the exhaust from the smog pump. if you wont be running a smog pump then you dont need the legal heads. if you have to pass smog, youll want the legal ones. either way you wont gain or loose any hp

i took my smog of its not legal.. but i think it helps teh motor turn freely.. witch will had power also ur motor well be a little cooler not having to run that smog...
