Best engine
What's the best street/strip engine for the 94 mustang? i want something all forged with a decent amount of power. i've looked closely between 306s to 347s but i'm inexperienced and just don't know. i want something that runs smooth but packs a good punch.

RE: Best engine
ultimate in reliabilty and performance is just plain old 351W
it's made from the factory to make same hp as 347, has a stronger block, stronger crank
and doesnt have the leaking head gasket problems you can get on a 347.
on top of all that they're cheaper than a 347
351 will mount in same place, hook up to the trans and use stock computer and wiring.
351W was designed to make 400hp so factory style hypert. pistons are fine
or forged if you want to go with an s/c later. ( dont underrate ford's hypert. pistons, they're actually quite good in n/a applications )
a mild setup on 351 will get you 400hp, and real performance set-up for
a few extra dollars will push the 450hp mark ( 320-350rwhp )
if you want a ready to run engine that will give you about 325rwhp and be very street friendly
