Default I have $7000, what should I do?

Ok
just for the sake of giving you guys something to do,
and seeing what you guys can tell me,
im going away to basic training for the Canadian Armed Forces this summer and im coming back with 5K in my pocket.
i want a low quarter mile time but i have to drive 20 miles on the highway every day...twice.
i got another car im selling for about 2000
so i have about a $7000.
the list of mods i already have are in my signature.

It's an 88 notchback... doesnt even have MAF yet

anyways, have at it with planning for speed.
i figure this should be fun for some of you guys.
Thanks guys.

first and foremost, take 2 grand of the seven and buy me some afrs

then take your money and well..heres what i would do if it were me. part of it is what i actually am doing

new shortblock with forged internals -under 3000grand
mass air - dunno how much that costs
heads, cam, and intake - about 2000
keep your super comps - FREE!
do a little ignition upgrades under 1000
nitrous - 700 bucks

total will probably be about 6000, give or take a few hundred for gaskets sensors, and whatever else you might need (piddly ****)

you'll still have almost a grand for the outrageous gas, or trans upgrades, rear end upgrades..whatever else you want to do.

mm well i think id stroke that block or get a whole nother block i got a 347 stroker on the bottle getting 15mpg daily driver runs 11.0's and i think ill bust 10.99's cuz i just reset my timing up to 14 it was at 7 somehow. but do all motor internals and head work first.. then by an amuninum intkae like a hogan or somthin they cost 600 bucks but u can feel a great differnce. get 30lb injectors get some 1.7 ratio rockers but with 7 grand u cant go to fast but u can make it run id set the mtor up for the bottle and get ur self a nice wet system and then u could posibly run a 11 seconds with 7 grand.. but just watch what u buy.. u need suspension to hold all this power down to the ground n stick.. ya now its tuff but id do motor interals so u know the motor wont brake and u know what it can hold and with stand..

yeah, i forgot about injectors and suspension work

actually you could probably go 12 teens on the setup you have now with a nitrous kit.

and i wanna stiffen up the frame.
im aiming for around 13-12.5 so im thinking it accomplishable.
my main goal is to beet a quick little mr2 down the street from me.

you don't need 7k to run a 12.5.

trickflow h/c/i kit 2k
stroker kit for 347. 1500.
rockers, lifters. rods etc. 600
block work, 200
control arms, subframes, drag rads and drag shocks, 1100
detroit locker rear with 31 spline axles and 3:73 gears. 1200.
70mm tb and 75mm maf, 24lb injectors, 600.
grand total+7200
this will take you into the 11's easy, 350+rwhp and the ability to hook it up to the ground without spinning, personally, i would save a little more for a stouter clutch and tranny too. then itll be completly bullitproof.[sm=smiley20.gif]

shti as stock stang runs what a low 14 12.5 i ran in my notch with stock in ternals but a e303 cam and n exhust and 75hp bottle with msd thats it.. n ran a mid 12
with 7 grand u can run a 12.0 bro.. will **** n get but build ur self a 347 stroker motor .. they are real durable for ever day use and for trashin... u can put alot to a 347 bro.. if u have any local speed shops go see how much they would charge u to get ur motor line board n strocked and ****.. instead of buying a whole new block pointless when u got a good one in ur hands know
