Your not really gonna feel a gain with anything. At least I didnt feel a difference with a cold air. There probably is a difference in gas mpg and intake temp but the gain is too little to tell. Thats just my .02

from what i've noticed, the size of the piping is slightly bigger on most aftermarket intake setups.. and maybe the material of the pipe itself helps keep temperatures down... but most CAIs mount the filter exactly where a stock setup would. UNLESS you're running a large conical filter at the end of your stock intake pipe inside of your engine bay, which in that case i would suggest getting a CAI for sure.

oh, and as far as the *** dyno goes, you won't feel much of a change. i just switched to a cold air intake w/ k&n today myself. i previously had a very old, ragged k&n filter on end of my stock tube. i felt a bit of a gain throughout the mid-range of the powerband.. but nothing drastic. i'm sure i gained a few hp though. and you can't beat the bling factor.. 'cause it makes you gangstah [8D]

about 1 peak hp differance....for a fender mount, if it is exposed in the engine bay, you will loose power

to be honest here guys the ole cold air stuff is way out of hand because it give very little hp return for your $$$$$ just removing the air silenter will give you as much or more than adding a 100-200 kit.... now adding a large conical filter will help because a more area...now a new stock air filter will flow better than a k/n until about 4k miles as the stock filter fills up with dirt..

I felt a big differance in mine. The Sn's have a lot of restriction on the stock setup.
