Default gauges

I recently purchased autometer gauges to go in to my car. and on two of them it says to connect them to my ignition. what i was wondering was which wire should i tap into on my ignition. and where it is located. any help would be appeciated. thanx

I've got them too and what they mean is connect them to a wire that is hot only when the ignition is in the on/run position. you can use a test light to find a wire at the fuse box that means this criteria and splice in the power wire for the gauges to this wire. just make sure when testing the wire that the power comes on/goes off with the key going on/off too. another option is to splice into the hot wire going to the radio as it is only hot when the key is on too.
