Default Am I really this slow!

*note this post is not helpful, but for comedic value *

I hate to admit this but I had a similar problem when I got my 87gt. I was 16, so i didn't know sh*t at the time. My dad drove the car home from my cousin's while i was at work, so i got off work, drove home, and it was waiting in the driveway. First thing i wanted to do naturally was take it to my friend's house and show him, so i got in, backed out of the driveway, stalled it, started it back up, and i was on my way. I hit the gas a few times, it would go and it sounded good, but something just didn't seem right. It didn't seem like it was as FAST as a mustang should be. Halfway to my friends house, I looked down, and noticed the E brake handle at a 45 degree angle.

I know that you or anyone else couldn't possibly be this dumb, I just wanted to share to see if i could get a few giggles.

Well I made it down to the track and it was pretty much as I had suspected. Mid 15's with a best of 15.32 Newgears next weekend and I will go from there.

Happy motoring

Don't sweat it and yeah the stock one's are pretty slow. 3.73s or 4.10s will liven it up. A few bolt-ons and you'll be in the low to mid-14s.

I have the 5 speed, but if I were you, I'd keep the AOD. No missed shifts and it's much better for bracket racing.

I bought my GF a 2000 V6 convertible Automatic (stock). That thing chirps on second even with her in the car (just before I get smacked in the back of the head). Check ur gears, 3.73s should give you good take off, 4.10s even better (although the gas mileage drops on the highway).
