Default Backfiring

Ok my car's been out of commission for about two weeks now. I replaced the CAI, Pulleys before i stopped driving it. Then I replaced the Distributor and headers(BBK Ceramic LT's)
kinda connected my shorty H to em and I wanted to hear my almost completed system

so i start her up and it dies immediatly
restart and i hear a pop, then dies
left it for a bit then restarted,
runs fine it just backfires thru the intake manifold and in the exhaust...
i MAY have ONE of the spark plug wires on the wrong one, most likely not tho
but the cap is fine is just the sides(never took the plugs off distributor cap with more than 1 off so i know which went where)
but doing my headers took a couple days and i left em plopped over the side
i also kept the rotor in the right place from when i took out the old distributor and replaced the new, so i know about that thing...
i also broke off a couple spark plugs while getting the headers inplace, but replaced the broken ones i saw(so keep that in mind that one of them may be slightly broken)
my step dad said to find some1 with a timing light, i think ill just go buy one.
what could be the problem?
what should i check and how can i go abouts fixing this?

On a good note tho, god does it sound amazing... with just the LT Headers and H pipe on there with no mufflers

Sounds like timing is off to me. get that timing light and check. if it is only one broken plug, it will run on 7 cilynders but it wont die right of way. You might have turned the distributor by accident.

Sounds to me like it is. Also if you pulled the distributor out double check to see if you put it back the right way. The timing light will come useful to you in the future as you add more parts.

anytime I add alot of mods I always change my plugs and ALWAYS remove all plug when doing header swap...sounds like a vacuum leak or an igintion problem

Just in case you messed up the plugs the cylinders are numbered starting at the front left looking at the engine from the front of the car. Then it goes back to 4 and starts with 5 at the front right. The firing order according to that is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

Guys, I just want to thank you very much. Car is running perfectly once more.
Got that timing light and me and stepdad figured it out.
It's actually a very neat little tool, especially to use at night.
Anyways, really wanted to thank you for giving me the info
