Your plane? Does it have a 5.0 in it? If not this is the wrong forum for your whining about loans...

ORIGINAL: boss429

ok hellion turbo kit, planned for the end of august

I'm thinking i'll throw on a BBK SSI intake and AFR 185 heads too.

should throw down an easy 500 to the ground

i was just thinking that after the turbo kit, $5500CAD

the AFR heads ($1500CAD) and the BBK intake ($850CAD)

are only gonna give me about another 100 RWHP on top of the hellion kit.

and thats a lot of money for that kind of increase i guess, still well worth it,

but i was wondering if anyone had any alternate idea about juicing the turbo kit for more power

without running more boost.

just looking for a game plan

thanks everyone

A cam, 306 or a 331 stoker, or Nitrous.

Just curious how many pounds to you plan on running and what gear ratio?

You know.... I'm in Oklahoma City, and a few months ago there was a clash of the titans at thunder valley raceway. After qualifying, I was hanging out with John Urist, who actually was the guy doing the installation in that article that did 392 HP on a stock motor with that kit. You should keep in mind though that he even rotated the mass air meter for optimum angle of airflow. Then, he tried to run up the bosst with that kit and blew a head gasket.... He told me in person that the single turbo kit is good for over 500hp, but you have to turn the boost up and hope the motor can handle it, or else you will have to get bigger heads and a cam. And like I said.... forget what I know and don't know... I'm only 20, and my car runs low 13's, but this came from the man himself. He told me that kit was the way to go, and I told him I wanted 550hp. He is a very firm believer in their kits, both in quality, efficiency, and power.

He said the guys at the dyno shop were rather forgiving though, cause he apparently spilled a bunch of coolant on their dyno.

you can always start off with modest 10psi the kit comes with, upgrade the top end.
then save your money and hopefully block doesnt come apart till you can get one
of these bennettracing 331 Dart short blocks for $5,900, then turn the boost up as high
as she'll go

I think r.barn's idea sounds pretty good... dial it down for now... save the money for the bottom end upgrades, then unleash the fury within!!!
