yes, there is mods to do, no a t-5 will not work let alone would die on the first shift if it were to work. If you plan on a mediocre 460 dont bother. I wouldnt recommend a 460 that makes any less than 450hp. Run a C-4 or C-6 trans. If you are still interested let me know

+1 A C4 would be a nice trans to run with someone like that....... also, if you plan on driving it on the street, etc. a 460 w/ a C4 is not the way you want to go.

Dont waste your time. Unless your seriously racing the car, dont bother, its alot of trouble, headers, K member mods, smaller brake booster, etc. My friend just got done doing a 460 swap. Lots of trouble for an un-reliable, overly heavy, it handles like total sh*t now and it overheats like crazy.
You want a nice, very streetable combination? Just stroke a 351 Windsor to 408 or so with some Vic Jr heads. You wont be dissapointed, they produce as much torque as a big block without all the short comings, such as weight, over heating, etc. A naturally aspirated 408 will easily put you into the 11's.

Where are you from? A 408 produces PLENTY of torque. Its un-reliable for a street car, period. Technolody has caught up with cubic inches.

Unless you drop a stroker kit in a 460, there is NO POINT in putting one in a fox unless you are ALL OUT RACING the car. They dont produce big blocks anymore because the technology exsists now to produce the same results from a smaller package. Vic jrs flow as well or better than some big block heads. Ford FE engines are early sixties technology. Ive drivn his 460 car in the 1/8' it ran a 8.2. He was beat by a 65 coupe with a 347 in it with AFR 125's and an E cam. His car has stock heads, no port work, headers, a Vic jr intake, a Demon 750 and a bunch of other stuff, he had no traction, handles like a complete boat now, is no fun whats-so-ever to drive. If you know what your doing building a small block these days to run laps around a big block shouldnt be any problem anymore.
