20 PSI, dude, you got to get either a R302 or a Dart Block there is no way a stock block will handle 20psi, dont even bother to waste your time on DSS level 10 or 20 blocks cause there still stock blocks. You need to get a 4 bolt main.
excatly the stock block is only a 2 bolt main and can handle about 500 hp

What kind of PSI out of both a turbo and blower do you have to run to get to 500 hp and what kind of 1/4 times could you expect???

1) There is no such animal as a 'cheap' 4-bolt main block.....
2) Whats it matter if it came from the factory with forged ppistons or not, if you over bore you have to get new pistons anyway........
3) .030 is really the limit on overbore........

if you want to make serious shyt in your pants power...........

Dart 4 bolt 302 over border to 306 or better yet stroked out to 331ci
forged dish pistons
steel crank
girdle support
AFR heads (185 or 205's)
TrickFlow box intake
Hellion turbo kit with upgraded 76mm turbo at 20psi

should make something around 650+rwhp and be a 9.xx second car.

Stock block or the new "sportsman" blocks are only good for about 450rwhp
after that you're flirting with danger.

Also consider the 351W, much stronger block

if he is looking to build an engine the stock components shouldnt matter, specially if he is looking to bore it over.

I am going to bore it over. I was really only thinking about boring it over to a 306. I was then thinking of stroking it and most likely turboing it. Turbo 5.0 rock the hell out of Supra's on the highway and still kick *** on the strip.

To me it doesn't sound like you know alot about mustang and performance. If you go turbo, your going spend between 4k-7k on a turbo kit. unless you bluid your own. You could go to turbomustangs.com and click on forum and then click on DIY kits. there are a ton of people out there building there own kits, check it out. If you want to get in the 500hp range, go to Corral.net or Stangnet.com and check out there Classifieds. you could get a good set of aftermarket heads from $500-$700. Same as intakes.

Or you could always make your stock block into a 4 bolt main block, it would just take some machine work. If youre lookin for a turbo kit - www.turbo-kits.com they have kits that supposedly make upwards of 1000HP in a 302. if youre gonna turbo I wouldnt stroke it, especially not with 20psi. And as for how it would be, I was just at my local drag strip not too long ago and there was a turbo stang up there runnin 6.50 @210. But if you do make something with that much power, scatter sheilds are a must, wouldnt wanna see you get cut in half when something decides to let go. Dunno if youve ever seen the video on streetfire where a guy looses an arm on a drag bike after a piston lets go? At any rate, I would definitly get a upgraded block though if youre planning on going with that much HP.
And heres what Ive heard about the 302 HO blocks, in the lifter valley on both sides there will either be XXX or YYY cast into the block. Ive heard the XXX blocks are stronger. Just what Ive heard dont know if its true or not.

You are right I don't know a whole lot about 302's. I have been reading up on them a little bit found that a good bore is only .030 over. We are not worried too much about overall cost but if their is a cheaper place to buy a good one that is where I wanted to go. I wanted to go the forced induction route because of the ability to change the power with a boost controller for street/daily driving to track/cruising and pissing off Honda's while not having to pay for another whole tune each time.

EDIT: This is not a short time project we are looking to build this over time with the help of some friends and family.
