restarting problems
If I start my mustang up when the motor is cold it will run great. No matter how far drive it - it still runs great . But if i turn it off and try to restart it , it will hardly turn over but will still start. What could be the problem? It has a good battery , starter , and flywheel. The car is a 87 mustang GT.

RE: restarting problems
More than likely its because the TFI module is hot. This happens to me and many others. I think ford had a previous problem with these modules as there were alot of Rangers stalling out because they would get too hot. Its really nothin to worry about.

RE: restarting problems
My 88 is doing the same thing and i was also wondering about it. Runs great when you first start it then when it gets hot it turns over hard and when it starts u have to keep the rpms up for a few seconds to keep it running. Kinda scared me i thought i screwed it up.

RE: restarting problems
Does it turn hard? Maybe timming is to far advanced, that can cause hard starting when warm.
If it was the ignition modual, it would run bad when it got warm also, not just when trying to start.
