upgrading frt calipers
I am curious are there any oem mustangs or what ever that can be used to upgrade from a single piston to a duel pistons caliper?
I only ask because in the import scene all the mitsubishi eclipse, eagle talon, sebring, avenger guys can use the AWD duel piston calipers and bracket and rotors and pads on the single piston cars.. u get FANTASTIC stopping power and for the cost it may be worth it on these cars..

Look on www.advanceautoparts.com for 86 SVO calipers with the (S) after either the serial number or name, the "S" denotes a steel piston- phenelic pistons heat up and cause brake failure VERY often.
I think lincoln Mk. 7's, and continentals had the same caliper, and so did the POLICE crown victoria (excerpt from www.corral.net "Rebuilt 73mm loaded pair calipers from a 1986 Lincoln. $125 list, I paid less. RMC part # P143. According to the auto parts store, all the mid-'80s Lincolns use the same calipers. They had the same part number for all of them.")
Basically, make sure that ALL of the ones you look at have the same part number, and have an (S) at the end (DON'T BUY FROM AUTOZONE, YOU WILL REGRET IT!)
Really easy swap, and you won't regret it. Really, you don't even need to replace the master cylinder or brake booster, but if you don't it'll add slop to the pedal.
The other thing that you're going to want to do is buy some stainless steel caliper sleeves like these.
I'm listing these b/c they're Steeda, a pretty reputable mustang company. Those should help your 60-0 and 100-0 speeds significantly. All of that together will feel like you put a decent set of brakes on the car, and have saved me many a time.
Good luck!
