Default hey all, what kind of mpg?

hey all, let me introduce myself a little bit

im 18, in in northern VA and just graduated highschool. ive got a lifted k5 blazer and its been my project for the past year and half. ive pretty much rebuilt most of the stuff on the truck to take the abuse of mud bogging hehe the porblem is that it only gets 8-9mpg in the city so its not very practical for a dd. I have always loved mustangs. my dads got an 01 cobra triple black. we bought it new in 01, and its only got 4100 miles on it! its never been in rain or snow, and the engine is still clean enough to eat off of. needless to say, its not his dd.

anyways, now that im 18 my dad said he would go 50/50 with another car, and i want it to be a mustang. im wanting this to be my dd and then drive the k5 every now and then. i especially love the 87-93 5.0 notchbacks, and thats what im hoping to find. i also plan to do some of the basic mods like headers, new exhaust, intake, throttle body spacer, and mabe a couple other things. what kind of hp you think that would be making?

what kind of mpg are you guys getting that run modded 5.0 stangs? please include what mods you have

im a noob i know, but i jus wanna make sure i can get better mpg than the k5 to justify this toy *cough* i mean dd.

thanks,
james

ive got a bone stock '86 vert that gets about 18 city and 25 highway.... most cars without heavy internal engine modding can pull off 16+ mpg pretty easy

I'm in the same ball park as 50mikey, I just checked my mileage yesterday and was at about 17.5 which was city/hwy combined. I have everything but a supercharger basically.
