Really? For some reason I thoughtn the 165 were the way to go based on my set up.

So do you guys all agree that heads should be done before the cam?

Any idea about what camshaft innovations charges for a custom grind cam?

i agree here about the 185's, however you will probably have to get notched pistons so the valves will clear

No, talk to Jay first. He sells heads also, if you buy from him the heads will come already set up with the proper valve springs. It *may* save you from buying and setting up valve springs twice.

About $300 if he spec's a HYD roller for you. Get the cam doctor analysis to, it will tell you everything about the cam and cam timing.

I'll definitely tlak to them and see what they think is the best way to approach the cam/heads. It sounds like this would be the best way to go and it's a sure fire way to be certain the combo works perfectly. I'd much prefr to get everything squared away right from the get go. Do you get the "cam doctor" analysis prior to placing the order, or does this all happen when you go ahead and go through the process of getting the cam made?

Any recommendation on what roller rocker to get with the heads or would Jay be able to take care of that too?

Not sure about 1/4 mile time, but I'm getting the car dyno tuned next week, so I'll be able to let you know about HP.

BTW-With your set up, get an intake. and I don't know if you did injectors, MAF and TB, but this is a must.

You're starving you're set up and could unleash more performance big time with these mods.

jay can take care of all your concerns...as will ed curtis......stock bottem end eh?...plan on building a 4 bolter soon....you'll be making some power!....about the 185's...i use them on a 306 n/a...so you'll def need to consider 185's with a s/c or trick flow?

your 30's will be too small after the head swap, and waaay too small after jay's done with ya.

If you choose to get it, you will get it in the same box as the cam.

He will recommend a ratio.... if you ask him.
