Default Magic drainplug washers

Probably not too interesting, but some of you remember that I am using plastic oil drainplug washers (from the dealer), and was having trouble with the rear one leaking. Well, I have since noticed a curious thing. The washers allow the rear drainplug to work itself loose in under 100 miles. On three occasions, I have tightened the rear drainplug with a good torque wrench--first to 15, then 20, then to 23 ftlbs of torque. All three times, the bolt loosened 5-7 lbs in under 100 miles, and started leaking again. It may sound crazy, but it appears to be true.

Default RE: Magic drainplug washers

Sounds like its stripped. I run nylon washers, which is what I think you have and I have no problem with mine loosening up.
