Default RE: deleting the tach

the factory tach is reading higher then the new tach that is connected to my new msd 6al btm ignition box. The factory tach will wing up to 7000 rpm's when I get on it in 1st and 2nd, but the new tach is reading 6000 rpm's. the stock tach is just not consistent enough. I just took it out and it revs fine when i nail it through 3 gears, but if I run it in my 1/4 mile road, I can feel it fall off from 3rd to 4th top end rpm . I don't think the computer picks up 1st and 2nd that quick but does pick up 3rd and 4th because it is a little more gradual. I am sending back my motorvation chip because I had a problem with it, so I'm going to see if he can overide my factory revlimiter.

I recommend fixing the problem rather than throwing parts at it.
Besides,
A new tach will do nothing about your rev limit issues.

You should have brought up the chip first thing. I would suspect this is the issue. Have you run the car with the chip pulled? What was your problem with the chip?

Find out why the tach is reading higher than it should.
It may turn out that you have another problem which is causing the higher tach readings.
Something in the dist?

My opinion
