Default deleting the tach

Does anyone know where I can disconnect my tach? I have a new msd with monster tach and want to get rid of the factory tach.

The factory tach reads 1000 rpm higher when running it hard, so the factory tach is set at 6200 rev limit. When i'm at 5200 on the new tach the factory is shutting down the motor, thinking it's at 6200

The tach is not the problem, your rev limiter is the problem....

the tach is what will send the signal to the computer right. So if I disconnect the tach it shouldn't send the signal to the computer.

I may be misguided but i am of the understanding that you can bypass or disconnect the rev limiter... the tach, on the other hand, wont look good not working and if you decide one day to sell your car.....

I think its the other way around. Your tach does NOT send signal to the computer. The TFI module does. If your tach is reading 5200 when your car is shutting down, then your tach is reading 1000 too low.
