!!! How can I tell which year my AOD is from?

Ok, I have 2 AODs here... one that I pulled out of my car and another I had to put in it. How can I tell which year they are from so that If i want to get it rebuilt for performance I can tell them the right year for the parts. Thanks.

look for a tag on it

should be on one of the case bolts i would guess.

is it a date code or just plain date, cause i see codes but dont particularly see a date on it.
