Default Need help with jerking

I just bought a 88 LX w/ T-tops. IT has many mods done to it, but will try to name as many as I can. 302 bored .30 over, Trick Flow intake, Eldebrock aluminum heads, 24 lb injectors, mallory oil pump, 4.6 roller rockers, B303 cam, BBK headers, MSD ignition, MSD distributor, Pete Jackson gear drive, underdrive pulleys, Cervini Mach 1 functioning Ram air induction, 75mm throttle body, electric fan, 9 month old tremec tranny, ford racing clutch, BBK short throw shifter, 3.73 gears, off road H-pipe, 40 series flows, no cats, and more that I am forgetting. Anyways, it won't hardly idle when cold unless I control the throttle, and the car will jerk while driving until you get above 3k rpms. If you are in 1st and just trying to just move the car at low speed (under 10mph) it keeps jerking constantly, but doesn't feel like a cam lope to me. It runs like a scolded dog otherwise. Just don't no where to start looking.

sounds like your clutch.

high performance clutches are known to do that.
part of the give and take of having a high horsepower "street" car.

dont know what the fix is

Check your MAF- if that's not working properly the engine will run rough. Also your ignition module. Good luck

My 85 does this pretty bad too. So did my 86, so does my 79 landcruiser, and even my 2005 tacoma D/D does it every now and then in traffic.

Shampoo IMO......lmao! Was just wandering if both idle and jerking is both related to the same problem.

You said you just bought the car, was it a DD or a track car?

If its a track car, the clutch is probably in need of replacment and the cam in the car is way to aggressive for DD which is what gives you the lopey idle. Find out what kind of cam or the durations of the cam to get a better idea.
